About

What new construction painting includes

New construction painting covers the work that turns unfinished building surfaces into finished spaces. The scope may include drywall, ceilings, trim, doors, cabinets, exterior siding, and other surfaces identified during the consultation. We start by reviewing the property and the construction condition. Our crew coordinates needed repairs, prepares surfaces, protects furnishings and fixtures, and applies coatings suited to the planned finish. New work still needs close inspection. Small dents, sanding marks, dust, caulk lines, and uneven absorption can affect the final look. We focus on those details before the final walkthrough, where the lead paint crew member reviews the completed work with you.

Process

How new construction surfaces move from raw to finished

1

Review the new property

We meet at the property to discuss goals, identify the surfaces to paint, and note repairs or access needs that affect the scope.

2

Set the written scope and pricing explanation

We provide a clear written scope and pricing explanation before work begins, so the planned surfaces and project expectations are recorded.

3

Prepare and protect the work area

Our crew repairs and prepares surfaces, then protects furnishings, fixtures, trim, and nearby areas before paint application.

4

Apply coatings and check the finish

We apply the planned coatings in accordance with PDCA standards and review coverage, lines, repairs, and surface transitions.

5

Complete cleanup and walkthrough

We clean the work areas and conduct a final walkthrough with the lead paint crew member before closing the project.

What to prepare before new construction painting

A few decisions and site details help the consultation focus on the actual construction finish.

  • Confirm the rooms and surfaces: List the rooms, ceilings, trim, doors, cabinets, siding, or other surfaces included in the planned work.
  • Gather color decisions: Bring preferred colors or discuss a color consultation for coordinated residential, commercial, or community property finishes.
  • Mark active construction areas: Point out spaces that still need repairs, installation work, or access before painting can begin.
  • Plan access and protection: Identify furnishings, fixtures, equipment, and areas that need protection during surface preparation and coating.

These guys did an awesome job! They have a well trained team that works closely together to get the job done on time and on budget. They also did a number of other repairs on the interior and exterior ( removed dry rot, repair drywall, etc.) before they could even start the painting. I would highly recommend them!

We had been putting off painting our house because there is never a great time to do so. After we decided to do it, we got 6 bids, some where very low, with low grade products, other very high with outrageous considerations, Jeff and his team came dead in the middle with amazing notes from the first visit, careful workmanship and with top of the line quality product. Scheduling was a breeze with Lorena make it so easy for us even with a busy schedule during the summer. The best experience we've had, we basically did not notice the team was working. They arrived every day super early, left the area pristine, and delivered a great quality outcome in the entire exterior job. We are super happy with the pain, the look and all the recommendation and fixes the team did. We will definitely work with 365Painting Solutions for all of our future painting needs. Thank you for making this experience simple and painless.

The team at 365 did a great job painting our house. They painted the full exterior of our house, including all the trim, front door, and garage doors. Their color matching was spot on, and the front door and porch trim finish is perfectly smooth. They even did a nice job with caulking as well.

Questions about new construction painting work

Who provides new construction painting in Bellevue?

Thomas J. Painting provides new construction painting for residential and commercial properties in Bellevue and surrounding communities. The work includes surface preparation, repairs, protection, coating application, cleanup, and final inspection. We begin with a free consultation and in-home meeting, so the planned finish and project scope match the property’s construction condition.

What changes the cost of painting a newly built property?

Project cost depends on the surfaces, repairs, coating requirements, access, protection needs, and amount of interior or exterior work. A property with unfinished drywall needs a different scope from one with prepared walls and installed trim. We review those conditions during the consultation and provide a written scope and pricing explanation before work begins.

What does a new construction painting estimate include?

A new construction painting estimate reflects the surfaces, preparation, repairs, protection, coating work, cleanup, and project conditions we review. The written scope explains what the work covers before it begins. Bring room details, surface plans, color choices, and information about remaining construction tasks to the in-home meeting.

How do you prepare new drywall before painting?

New drywall needs cleaning, sanding checks, repair review, and suitable preparation before paint application. Joint compound and dust can absorb coating unevenly if the surface is not ready. We inspect the walls, address needed preparation, protect nearby areas, and then apply the planned finish in accordance with PDCA standards.

Can you paint trim, doors, and cabinets in a new build?

Yes, we can include trim, doors, cabinets, and related surfaces when the project scope calls for them. Each material needs a surface review before coating. We check installation condition, repairs, edges, and nearby finishes, then coordinate the work with the rest of the property’s interior or exterior painting plan.

What should be finished before the painters arrive?

Remaining construction work should be identified before painting begins, because repairs, installations, and dust can affect finished surfaces. We review active work areas during the consultation and note what needs access or protection. The project agreement then sets the planned scope around surfaces that are ready for preparation and coating.

How do you prevent paint defects in new construction?

Surface preparation and close inspection prevent many new construction paint defects. We check for dust, joint compound, sanding marks, caulk lines, rough trim, and uneven absorption before application. Our crew protects surrounding areas, follows PDCA standards, and reviews the finish with the lead paint crew member during closeout.

Key Points About New Construction Painting

  • New construction painting starts with surface readiness, not only color selection.
  • Drywall, joint compound, trim, doors, and cabinets need different preparation checks.
  • Protection matters while fixtures and nearby construction areas remain on site.
  • A written scope records the planned surfaces, preparation, and pricing explanation.
  • The final walkthrough reviews cleanup and the finished coating before project closeout.

When Customers Call Us About New Construction Painting

1

New Home Near Final Finish

A new home may have drywall dust, sanding marks, caulk lines, and small repairs before the finish coat. Those details affect how evenly walls, trim, and doors receive paint. During the consultation, we review the rooms and construction status, then set the scope around surfaces that are ready for preparation and coating.

2

Commercial Space Awaiting Turnover

A commercial space can need coordinated painting across walls, ceilings, doors, and trim before staff or tenants move in. Access, fixtures, and remaining construction work shape the order of tasks. We review the site with the owner or manager, protect finished areas, and document the planned work before painting starts.

3

Exterior Surfaces Need Final Coating

New exterior siding, trim, doors, and other surfaces need a planned finish before a property is closed out. Repairs, dust, caulk, and nearby work can affect the coating. We inspect the available surfaces, discuss the desired finish, and identify preparation and protection needs during the in-home meeting.
